Cub Scouts New Delivery Method
Cub Scouts 2010

Today in many families there are changes in family structures, Increased demands on parental time, more competition for boys’ interest and shift in new leader expectations/style. Since 2005 National Council has been piloting a change in the delivery of the Cub Scout program. The Theme/Craft based program while successful for many years was not found to meet the dynamics of socital change and the model no longer reflective of what is occuring in our families today. The realities of today's families are not the 1950's based model with a stay at home Mom and 2.5 children but an ever changing career based environment.. This change will begin at the start of the 2010 - 2011 Scout Program Year. What follows is some of the web available resource, presentations and videos explaining the new direction for Cub Scouting

Fast Tracks is a series of den meeting plans (two den meetings per month) designed to be used in conjunction with the youth handbooks. By following the prescribed den meeting plans as written, the boys will fulfill the requirements necessary to earn the badge of rank by early spring. This is the basis of the new Den & Pack Meeting Resource Guide and the pilot model. Provides early guidance before procuring the new book available in June. On-line versus a publication. A good place to start
